babyhut was conceived following my research into washable cotton nappies when i was pregnant with our first baby, tala. being an environmental consultant (formerly environmental manager for the body shop international plc) and having a passion for raising awareness about environmental issues and concerns, i researched what the market had to offer in terms of washable nappies. babyhut has now grown out of our nappies (we were born in 2000 after all!). we still recommend mother-ease washables and will only be too pleased to endorse them and answer any questions you have about them or tell you how to get hold of them from a stockist. also more than happy to talk to you about the vast range of washable nappies available now.

i wanted other parents-to-be and parents to be informed of the choices available so that they would not automatically choose disposable nappies as the only product to use. this has happened because the multi-nationals have multi-million pound marketing budgets to persuade the new consumer - the new parents - that disposals are the only option, the convenient get-out for the busy daily lives of mothers and fathers. knowing the pros and cons of using disposable nappies, washable cotton nappies and nappy washing services, i opted for washable cotton nappies, one-size, pre-formed, that last from birth until potty training, the mother-ease™.

appreciating the benefits of natural, quality products and not wanting to spend out on baby 'equipment', which our mothers did without, we bought a cotton baby sling which we constantly used for tala's first nine months. we did not even think twice about wanting to carry our baby. it just seemed to be an intuitive and natural thing to do. each one of our children has been carried in one of our cotton slings, we have been travelling without buggies and the freedom it has given us has been amazing. carrying your baby gives you a wonderful bonding experience and the children respond to you and are involved in your daily lives.

believe in hugs, cuddles and the closeness and the security you provide to your baby when you carry them. believe in attachment parenting!
